AXELOS, the joint venture company responsible for PRINCE2 and other Project and Programme Management (PPM) products has announces that it is now recognizing other qualifications as a precondition to take Practitioner level rather than the previous, mandatory requirement for the PRINCE2 Foundation qualification.
From the 1st July, AXELOS will recognize previous qualifications awarded to Practitioner candidates by the Project Management Institute (PMI) and the International Project Management Association (IPMA).
PRINCE2 (PRojects IN Controlled Environments), is a widely used project management that takes practitioners through the essentials for running a successful project.
“In 2013 more than 80,000 Foundation qualifications and more than 60,000 Practitioner qualifications were awarded worldwide.
AXELOS will recognize candidates holding the following qualifications:
Project Management Institute (PMI) - details at www.pmi.org:
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)
International Project Management Association (IPMA) - details at http://ipma.ch/:
- IPMA Level A® (Certified Projects Director),
- IPMA Level B® (Certified Senior Project Manager)
- IPMA Level C® (Certified Project Manager)
- IPMA Level D® (Certified Project Management Associate)
A candidate must be able to provide the Examination Institute with details of their certificate for the related qualification when signing up for the PRINCE2 Practitioner exam in line with the standard rules relating to exam pre-requisites.
